The Edison Site - Factory and Lab Buildings

The day after our trip to Philadelphia and Camden we drove north in New Jersey towards West Orange where the Edison site is located. It is a national park and had just been opened months before we got there. So, it was very exciting and there was a lot to see.

For Stacey and I the most fascinating room was the recording and horn rooms. The entire place is fascinating. All the machine rooms and Edison's office and the laboratory buildings outside the factory are great. But the recording room is where most of the recordings actually took place. The room is setup now very closely to how it was setup in an old photograph. So, it was a real treat. Everything from the opera artist pictures on the walls to the phonographs and instruments around the room. It was thrilling to see.
