OTAPS
The Oregon Territory Antique Phonograph Society - OTAPS
October 2018 Meeting

Mike Stitt and Brice Paris

The OTAPS meeting at the homes of Mike Stitt/Paula York and Brice/Kathleen Paris brought folks from as far away as Victoria B.C. and central California as well as members from Oregon and Washington. The Stitt/York home featured many various antiques including gum ball machines, vintage toys, cigar cutters, gambling machines, antique clocks as well as phonographs and many other antiques. All were displayed throughout the home and intermingled so the eye could wander from many differing items. Conversation and food were abundant. The Paris home featured different antiques also but the emphasis was on phonographs and related items. This is indeed one of the largest and most complete collections in the country. Highly decorated phonographs, some with gold leaf and unusual woods were abundant. Beautiful horns, phonograph signs and dealer advertising adorned the walls and shelves of this beautiful home. A large original tin foil machine greeted everyone as they entered the home! Food was abundant and Brice planned an active swap meet just outside the front door. Thanks to Mike, Paula, Brice and Kathleen for a wonderful Saturday, October 6, 2018.
